London Country 581J (MXX 244) Mobile Uniform Issue Unit was converted from RLH 44 in 1970, recalling LT's four bygone 4RF4s similarly converted in early 1967.  The suffix letter 'J' in '581J' stood for AEC Regent, as it had done in LT's Service Vehicle fleet since the early 1930s.  Fortunately 581J has been preserved, and was photographed at Staines in 1995.  Note the RFW class Regal IV (with Eastern Coach Works body) in the background.  [ 1952 AEC Regent III 9613E6952 ]
